  • Overview

    The individual in this position is responsible for accounting for ACA contracts, including the determination of monthly revenue, reconciliation of unbilled and deferred revenue balances, and project setup and maintenance in ACA’s client relationship management/accounting system.  The individual in this position is also responsible for reading and interpreting contract terms and ensuring that projects are set up accurately.

    Responsibilities

    • Determine the amount of revenue that should be recognized for ACA contracts on a monthly basis
    • Reconcile unbilled balances by contract to ensure that the balances can be billed in a future period
    • Reconcile deferred revenue balances by contract to ensure that the balance can be recognized as revenue in a future period
    • Compile a monthly reporting package and analysis of results, especially as it pertains to revenue and cost of sales
    • Analyze executed client contracts and oversee the project set up process in ACA’s client relationship management/accounting system
    • Identify non-standard contract terms related to projects and work with the Revenue Manager on the proper accounting treatment
    • Collaborate with the ACA sales team to ensure that sales opportunities are created and updated, if necessary, based on the executed contracts
    • Proactively lead the contract renewals process for ACA from an administrative and tracking perspective

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting is strongly preferred
    • Two years’ experience with revenue recognition for services contracts preferred
    • Two years’ experience performing project set up at a professional services firm preferred
    • Experience with Deltek Vision accounting system preferred
    • Ability to exercise discretion and make independent judgments on matters of significance
    • Demonstrated professional integrity

    • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, small-team environment
    • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize effectively
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients
