  • Overview

    Position Objective:

    The individual in this position is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of client engagements, including advising clients on the overall management and performance of their AML/financial crimes compliance programs, developing and sustaining client relationships, and developing and overseeing ACA junior staff. The individual in this position is also responsible for serving as an internal and external resource with respect to a particular area of relevant expertise.


    • AML and Sanctions Compliance Programs Assessment – including reviewing governance, policies and procedures, controls, training, etc.;
    • Monitoring Process Design
      • assisting / assessing the implementation of AML/ETS monitoring and screening solutions, including business requirements, vendor selection and evaluation, implementation plan, vendor management, and operational policies and procedures
      • selecting / designing monitoring rules to address identified AML risk, including evaluation of risk coverage, as well as analysis of historical data to evaluate and recommend preliminary threshold parameter setting
    • Model Validation - conducting/assessing validation of AML/ETS transactions monitoring, sanctions screening, and customer risk rating models, including evaluation of conceptual soundness, assessment of data completeness and integrity, functional testing and analysis of model effectiveness.
    • Model Tuning -- evaluating model effectiveness and performance, including consideration of model objectives and risk coverage, in order to identify potential model enhancements to improve effectiveness and/or reduce incidence of false positive alerts.
    • Model Risk Management Program Design and Assessment - assessing design and operation of model risk management programs related to AML/ETS models, including evaluation of governance, documentation, testing and validation procedures.
    • Data Lineage Testing and Validation - validating completeness and integrity of data feeds relied upon by compliance applications and monitoring systems, including identification, documentation and testing of critical data elements, data flow processes, and source system data feeds
    • Prioritize and focus efforts on identifying and addressing clients’ needs through building and sustaining relationships to maximize client satisfaction and identify potential growth opportunities
    • Pro-actively direct all aspects of consultant fieldwork including leading project teams, preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials, and defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collection
    • Increase ACA’s brand by conducting research and surveys, writing articles, preparing and delivering presentations at industry conferences, and/or making internal or client presentations on compliance-specific issues
    • Assist with the development, implementation, and ongoing success of ACA management internal strategic development initiatives
    • Proactively serve as a subject matter expert with respect to a particular area of expertise by, among other things, developing client deliverables and internal educational and training materials and identifying and carrying out, as applicable, strategic initiatives
    • Supervise, train, evaluate, oversee, and provide feedback to junior colleagues
    • Network with industry professionals on business and research opportunities
    • Perform ad-hoc work/special projects as necessary to support ACA on various client and internal initiatives


    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or seven years’ experience within the financial services industry
    • Ten years or Master’s Degree and seven years of experience with any or all financial crime, risk and compliance technology platforms/solutions such as NICE Actimize, PRIME, FCRM, Mantas in the financial services domain (banking, brokerage or insurance)
    • Excellent presentation skills

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and the Internet
    • Willing to travel — up to 50 percent
    • Available for client work and/or travel Monday through Friday on a general basis, including occasional nights and weekends
